This recently created artwork is called Slick Features. I choose to name my artwork this because it shows the main features of a beautiful face. The purpose of this artwork was for me to practice sketching features of a face, and correctly spacing them. My element of art that I focused on was space, specifically placement and facial proportion. Theses are shown within the space between the eyes, and the placement of the eyebrow, to the eyes.
My artwork shows a crying girl with hurtful words around her. In this artwork, my Studio Habits of Mind was to communicate through my work. My main Element of Art was bold form lines, shown in the structure of the face features such as the noes and in the shoulder and chest area, all done with my trusty pencil. With it, I started with a U shaped head, and had no idea where I was going with it. Then, I finally decided to explain what I thought of bullying, but through my artwork. This impactful, yet sincere piece of work truly expresses my feelings and thoughts of what bullying is and how it affects someone. This is my first artwork I created. It is called Dreamcatcher. The Studio Habit of Mind I focused on with this artwork is “developed my artmaking skills”. In the process, I learned how to loosen up my wrists when I was creating the features. Also, I tried out the charcoal. In the end, I am glad I tried theses new skills because they give me good learning for further purposes. I connect to Agnes Cecile with her art style. She is able to show feelings in her artwork in a creative way. The art medium she uses in theses specific works, is enamel paint and ink. In her other pieces, she uses watercolors, oil and acrylic. In these works, the element mostly uses is line. For example, around the eyes are bolder lines, and around the nose are more fine lines. |
